Drag me to Science – Science with Sparkle & Glamour

The Drag me to Science project brings together the world of science and the art of drag performance. Six talented drag artists from Zurich, Basel, Winterthur, and Lucerne – all with academic backgrounds – will take to the stage to explore and celebrate the intersection between scientific knowledge and creative expression. This unique event promises not only entertainment but also thought-provoking insights, challenging stereotypes, questioning norms, and shining a spotlight on science in unexpected ways. The project makes a valuable contribution to the cultural landscape by connecting science with creative forms of expression, making scientific concepts accessible and engaging, and enhancing public education in exciting ways. Diversity in science is honoured, showcasing the talents of artists from various academic disciplines and highlighting the richness of their backgrounds and expertise. One of the main aims is to redefine the image of the scientist, challenge stereotypes, and promote inclusion in science. The event encourages meaningful engagement by inspiring the audience to think critically and creatively about science and its relationship with society. It also aims to foster a strong sense of community and inclusion by offering a safe and welcoming space for people of all orientations to celebrate empowerment and the pursuit of knowledge.
