Worlds of the Senses – An Evening of Art and Experiments

Immerse yourself in a world where science, creativity and art merge in a truly unique way! This special evening is curated by creative and scientific minds from Technorama who combine their knowledge and passion into one extraordinary experience. All around the park, you’ll find fascinating performances where the boundaries between science and art blur playfully. Experience impressive experiments, captivating music, vibrant dance or magical illusions. Scientific phenomena are linked with artistic expression in surprising ways, uniting research and art into a shared experience.

Art and Chemistry

The Lab Team invites you on a colorful journey of discovery that blends art and chemistry. Together with you, they will create a large collaborative artwork. Using simple ingredients like lemon juice, vinegar, soap, or baking soda, fascinating color changes will occur—depending on whether the mixture is acidic or alkaline.

Con tricks

Che Nepomuk Hoffmann (head of the day) demonstrates clever scientific and sleight-of-hand tricks and shows how easily our perceptions can be deceived and altered. A play on attention, physics, and logical thinking.

Culinary Arts and Botany

Elena Finkler (show team member and biologist) will take you on a culinary and botanical tour of the park. She’ll show you all the plants that grow here—and which ones are edible.

Performative Walk

Kim Wernerr (Show Team) and Kathrin Ballmann (Day Manager and Show Team) will take you on a performative walk through the park. Over the course of 20 to 30 minutes, you’ll explore the grounds together through experiments that invite you to participate and marvel.

Science-Cocktails

The Laborbeam invites you to engage in a sensory experiment: Together, we’ll mix colorful, fragrant, and surprising science cocktails. Chemical reactions create fascinating textures, color changes—and even “dragon popcorn” that billows out of your mouth and nose.

Questions of Physics

Aleksi Bossart (Physics Lab Coordinator) invites you to an experiment that begins in a coffee cup—and ends with the big questions of physics: meandering rivers, chemical reactions, architectural tensions, and ocean currents: all of these can be observed on a small scale if you look closely.

Defying Gravity

Finn Andersen (exhibition staff member and circus performer) presents an acrobatic performance.

Soap Bubble Art

Andreas Locher (a member of the show team) not only makes giant, iridescent soap bubbles dance through the air, but also wraps guests right inside the giant bubbles. He will also use fog and Uranin to conjure up very special “UV bubbles.”

The Third Hand

Pätrick Wildeisen (exhibition staff member) delves into the mysteries of the brain with a unique experiment: he demonstrates just how quickly our minds accept a third hand—a fascinating glimpse into the age of prosthetics.

Rickshaw Ride

Johannes Pietsch (exhibition and ticket office staff) will take you on a ride through the park in his golden rickshaw—an unusual perspective with music of your choice and plenty of charm.
