Digital Sundial

Floor | Technorama Outdoors
This exhibit is not accessible during the winter months. A digital" sundial without electronics: It does not cast a shadow, but projects the time as luminous figures. Although this watch is not handy (not suitable as a pocket watch), it is all the more impressive for its aesthetics and finesse. The slit parallel to the earth's axis throws a strip of light onto the cylinder, which passes over an angle of 15 degrees (360°: 24h = 15°) in one hour. In the cylinder, the hour's numbers are placed under these angles, so that the local time can be read on the ground.
