In the “Measuring Man” special exhibition (2011), visitors can demonstrate and measure the full use of their physical strength by touching, jumping, taking aim, estimating, acting or reacting. Thirty experiment stations are available for actively testing their heart, lungs, eyes, muscles, skin, vocal chords, nerves and much more.

The double entendre of the exhibition title refers to two aspects of the word “measure.” On the one hand, it refers to the many different possibilities of carrying out various measurements on one’s own body: ranging from lung volume and hearing capacity to reaction time. On the other hand, the title alludes to the fact that measuring the world with our senses is in a constant state of flux. As a result, the rate of success can also vary, as the numerous experiments in the exhibition reveal.

In its entirety as a travelling exhibition, “Measuring Man” comprises 24 exhibits and requires ca. 500m2 of space; with three additional exhibits another 100m2.

Explanatory texts in German, French, Italian and English are available for all of the exhibits.

The rental of individual exhibits from the ensemble of the “Measuring Man” travelling exhibition is not possible.
