Scientific experiments for teenagers from 13 years

The Youth Laboratory provides opportunities for deepening the sense of free and uninhibited play, and the instinct to experiment, that is central to the whole exhibition. School students work under professional supervision with topics linked to the scholastic curriculum. Clear and easily understood explanations allow them to explore the laws of nature and the products of technology with a minimum of external intervention.

The following areas are covered:

Physics

Biology

Chemistry

Kitchen Laboratory

Chemistry Laboratory

Youth Laboratory ... book early!

So that school groups can work on their experiments under professional supervision and without being disturbed, there is the opportunity to reserve particular laboratory areas exclusively for them. Be sure to plan and book your visit early – as you might expect, there is a brisk demand!

Booking/Reservation

So that your pupils can get the maximum benefit from their visit to Youth Lab, it is important to plan their visit carefully. The following points should give an overview of the possibilities.

1. Deciding which Lab

  • Youth Lab in general (ca. 2 hrs)
  • Chemistry Lab (ca. 1 – 1½ hrs)

  • Kitchen Lab (ca. 1 hr)

  • Combination* Chemistry and Youth Lab (ca. 1 hr in turns)

  • Combination* Kitchen and Youth Lab (ca. 1 hr in turns)

  • Combination* Kitchen and Chemistry Lab (ca. 1 hr in turns)

*The combination alternatives are useful when groups are particularly large. For example, there are 16 spaces for work in the Chemistry Lab, so that a group size of 16 is ideal, but 18 could be managed at a pinch.

2. Deciding programme content (which themes within the labs)

3. Clarifying trip organisation points
